Ireland Retreat 2027

Cliffs of Moher, County Clare · August 20 – August 26th, 2027

Picture waking to sea air on Ireland's wild Atlantic coast, moving through morning practice with the ocean framed in floor-to-ceiling glass, and ending the day in a hot tub as the sun sinks over the water. Join me for a week of science-based yoga and mobility, deep rest and real connection at the Cliffs of Moher Retreat in County Clare. Our group will have the entire retreat centre to ourselves: a private hideaway of old stone walls, tall coastal grasses and wide-open sky.

The Studio

Our practice home for the week is a light-filled studio whose floor-to-ceiling windows look across green fields to the sea. Underfloor heating keeps it warm on misty mornings, and everything you need is here: mats, soft woollen mats for restorative sessions, bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets and eye pillows, plus gongs and crystal bowls for sound sessions. The studio stays open around the clock as a quiet space for your own practice, journaling, or simply watching the weather roll in off the Atlantic.

Where You'll Stay

Home for the week is a cluster of whitewashed stone cottages and lodges with calm, cosy bedrooms in soft coastal tones. Choose a shared twin room, a room suited to couples, or one of a limited number of single rooms. Every bedroom has its own key, and the lounges, with their deep sofas and countryside views, are ours to share.

Food

Meals are a highlight. The retreat's chefs serve two hearty home-cooked meals a day, a leisurely brunch at 11 am and dinner at 7 pm, with afternoon snacks and fresh baking in between. Think shakshuka with warm sourdough, fragrant dhal and curries, vibrant garden salads and beetroot chocolate cake. Gluten-free and vegan options are available, and allergies can be accommodated with advance notice. On the chef's night off, you're free to try one of the area's excellent local restaurants (dinner that evening is not included).

Wellness Suite

After practice, unwind in the wellness suite. Soak in the outdoor hot tub, warm up in the sauna, steam room or infrared sauna, then wake up every cell with a dip in the cold plunge pools. Massage and reflexology with local therapists can be arranged at an extra cost.

A Day on Retreat

Each day has an easy, unhurried rhythm, with plenty of space to rest and explore. On a few of the days, we'll also head out together on excursions to discover the wild beauty of the West of Ireland. A typical day at the retreat looks like this:

  • Morning: a strong, mindful practice in the sea-view studio

  • 11 am: a leisurely brunch

  • Afternoon: free time to walk the cliffs, swim, enjoy the sauna, book a massage, or simply rest

  • Late afternoon: an evening session of restorative yoga, mobility or sound

  • 7 pm: dinner together

Explore the West of Ireland

  • The Cliffs of Moher and the coastal walking trails

  • Sea swimming at Clahane Shore, a 15-minute walk away

  • St. Brigid's Well, just up the road

  • Lahinch beach, cafés and surf schools

  • Traditional music and pubs in Doolin

  • Boat trips to the Aran Islands

  • The Burren Food Trail, Burren Perfumery and Hazel Mountain Chocolate

Getting There

The nearest airport is Shannon (58 km). Cork (175 km) and Dublin (280 km) are also options. You can also take the train to Ennis, then a taxi or bus to Liscannor.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm on August 20. Early check-in and bag drop aren't possible, so if you're arriving early, plan a night in Lahinch or Doolin beforehand.
